The Perfect Spa Day, in Order

Sauna before plunge, plunge before pool — why sequence is the treatment, and how to spend a full day doing very little correctly.

Most guests book the circuit and run it backwards — cold last because it sounds like a punishment to save for later. It's not a punishment, and the order isn't negotiable.

This is the day we give guests who book the full retreat — hour by hour, the way the therapists run it themselves.

09:00 — start hot

The sauna comes first, always — 80°C, eucalyptus steam, twenty minutes maximum. Heat opens everything the day needs: circulation, pores, attention. Shower warm, not cold, when you step out.

Skip breakfast beforehand or keep it small — a body digesting a big breakfast is a body working, not resting.

Hydrothermal circuit

09:30 — the cold is short

The plunge is 4°C and the correct time inside it is shorter than your nerve suggests. Thirty seconds to three minutes — breathe slowly, get out, wrap up. The glow that follows is the whole point.

Then the magnesium pool: 38°C, glass ceiling, as long as you like. This is where the day slows properly — no phone, no agenda, the water doing what it does.

The order is the treatment. Guests who follow it feel it for days; guests who skip it just had a nice sauna.

11:00 — hands-on time

Treatment slots book into the warmest part of the day for a reason — muscles arrive at the table already loosened. The signature massage runs 75 minutes; pressure is discussed once and never again.

Lunch follows at the conservatory — light, warm, eaten slowly. The afternoon belongs to the float room: forty minutes of engineered nothing, and the reason guests book the retreat again.

Key Takeaways
  • Heat first, cold second, warm third — always.
  • The plunge is 30–180 seconds, not a marathon.
  • Treatments land better on a warmed body.
  • The phone stays in the locker — that rule is the real therapy.

The rules that make it work

Phone in the locker — the circuit doesn't work if the device travels. Hydrate between every station; warm water and tea live beside each pool. And end the day on the pool deck if you can — the sunset session is the spa's natural afterword.

Bookings run through the spa page; the half-day retreat bundles everything above for less than the pieces.
